Early Morning Sadhana
 |
Sunday, January 17
4:00 to 6:30 am
|
Why get up to join us for early morning sadhana on Sunday? Because between 3:00 and 6:00 am, when the rays of the sun are hitting the earth at a 60 degree angle, Yogi Bhajan taught that all of the great spiritual teachers appear to bless, elevate and transform each of us.
Join the KYL Sangat* to receive these blessings! We start with Japji (meditative prayer), practice a Kundalini Yoga set, and end with 62 minutes of meditations (the Aquarian Sadhana mantras). Once each month we offer the experience of early morning sadhana at KYL.
Sadhana means a daily spiritual practice. The yogic scriptures call for at least two-and-a-half hours of sadhana before the rising of the sun. The two-and-a-half hours is determined by the law of karma--everything you give, you receive back tenfold.
So, if you dedicate one-tenth of your day to your higher consciousness, your whole day is covered by the returning energy. And, when a group of us meditates together, the total effect of our sadhana is multiplied by the number of people participating!
Getting up for sadhana is a victory over time and doing sadhana together is a victory over space. Sadhana is a self-victory. You become incapable of being defeated! (There is no charge for early morning sadhana.)
After sadhana, please join Shakta and Hari Dev for breakfast at their condo. All are invited!
* 'Sangat' means the company of the holy. Please
arrive between 3:30 and 4:15 am, the doors will be open only
during that time. Use the North end doors (on the right as
you face the building) to enter - only the door furthest
left will be open.

Healing Power of Double Gong & Mantra

with Shakta Kaur & Hari Dev Singh
Friday, January 22 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm
($15 in advance)

End Your Karma and Connect with the Endless Circle of Infinite Prosperity!
Bring a friend and join us Friday night (January 22) for one of our most popular monthly sessions of
double gong and mantra—for prosperity! This month we’ve chosen a mantra especially designed to jumpstart your New Year with all the abundance that you deserve.
As always, we begin every ‘Healing Power of Gong & Mantra’ session with light Kundalini Yoga to prepare the body for what’s to come (the yoga is appropriate for all levels). Then we move into deep relaxation with not one, not two, but three beautiful Paiste symphonic gongs. Your mind will have no defense to the gong after 90 seconds!
After the gong we use sound (mantra) to remind us that the entire universe was built on sound, on vibration. And, as we vibrate a particular combination of sounds, we are able to tune into a different level of intelligence, or, consciousness.
The mantra for January, ‘Hari Hari Hari Hari Hari Hari Har,’ has the capacity to open you to attracting and receiving exactly what you need. Sometimes it is more than you might expect or even want and sometimes it is totally different from what you desire. The more you are able to relax into this meditation the more you will allow the manifestation of what the Creator has in mind for you.
So, Click Here to pre-register and join us for the deep
vibrational healing of double gong and mantra on Friday,
January 22nd.

“If you want to learn something, read about it. If you want to understand something, write about it. If you want to master something, teach it.” -- Yogi Bhajan
We are all teachers We teach each other when we can see ourself clearly and when we can help another see him/herself clearly. To teach is to transform and to be transformed. To be the best teacher we need to be the best student. And, the best student comes from a genuine immersion into a practice where we learn to be who we are and serve all from the heart.
Training Team
If this sounds like something you would like to experience, why not join us for two separate sessions—the first this spring and the second next fall—for the 220-hour Level 1 Teacher Training course in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan that is called ‘The Aquarian Teacher?’ When you do, you will receive guidance from an international team of teacher trainers including KRI’s Director of Training for Kundalini Yogis worldwide, Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Ph.D.

Jennifer Rzab - KYL's New Hatha Yoga Teacher
 |
Jennifer Is Now Teaching Hatha Yoga at KYL - Mondays at 6
pm.
Register |
Jennifer admits that an uncontrollable laughing fit during a breathing meditation was her introduction to yoga! Since that moment in 2002, yoga has been an integral part of her physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
In 2003, Jennifer began training through YogaFit® Training Systems Worldwide
and has taught in the Chicagoland area since 2004.
Jennifer's personal journey as a student led her to KYL. Her participation in
KYL's classes has helped her develop a new outlook on life as well as teach her simple, but important lessons including: always accept laughter even if during the most inopportune moments, we wouldn’t be graced with the experience if it wasn’t worth it.
Hatha Yoga 1 will offer students a chance to unwind through breathwork, gentle stretches, sequenced posture flows, balance postures and a little R&R to finish the evening off right! |

New Moon
The New Moon is when you are at your lowest...energy-wise. It is
a good day to fast on lemon and water. Fast from sun-up until the
next morning at breakfast, when you "break" the "fast."
Waxing Moon
... is the time between the New Moon and the day before the Full
Moon. During this time the energy of the body moves into your higher
centers (chakras). This is the time to bring new things, new people
or new relationships into your life or to accelerate the progress
of your special projects.
11 Days After
New Moon
Yogi Bhajan taught that this is the day when you are in balance.
The glandular system readjusts itself on this day. Your metabolism
is changing, so if you eat very lightly (green foods) or if you
live just on water and lemon today, your health will be perfect.
Eat very lightly during the day. Eat only one meal and drink lemon
and water the rest of the day.
Full Moon
You are naturally accelerated on a full moon. You are at your highest
energy level. The secretions in your body will be at their maximum,
so you don't want your energy being used to consume food. Save your
energy to reconstruct yourself. Try to drink only liquids on this
day. If you feel you must eat, drink only milk. (But, don't drink
cold milk right out of the refrigerator. Milk should be brought
to a boil. Allow the milk to foam up and then bring the heat down
so the milk is on a slow boil for 5-10 minutes. While cooking it,
you may add a pinch of ground turmeric, a pinch of black pepper,
a cinnamon stick, or a few pinches of ginger to reduce any mucous
causing side effect.)
Waning Moon
... is the time between the Full Moon and the day before the New
Moon. This is the best time to remove things, relationships or situations
from your life that no longer serve you. It is not generally thought
of as the best time to start a new project.

A Thought From Yogi Bhajan
"
Prosperity, prosperity, prosperity is perpetual with people who prefer to be penetrating, prepared and purposeful. But, prosperity only comes to those who are trustworthy, deliver and who are content and consistent. Basically, it boils down to commitment. If you can put your soul into anything, you can plug into the whole world. It will be yours. You can sweep prosperity with your commitment. Contain, commit and be continuous.
