Solstice Celebration

Join Shakta and Hari Dev to celebrate the time when darkness rules—Winter Solstice! This is the time of year the ancients considered the ‘gateway to God.' The gods of the ancient Babylonians, Egyptians and Greeks were all born at this, the darkest time of the year, to bring light. Darkness gives us time to pause, to go within, to recognize the divinity we carry inside and to continue to bring it forward in our day-to-day lives. To see and recognize that one light, the light of consciousness, which is manifesting and pulsating through all of creation, is the goal of life.
Your
Intention Use the energy of Winter Solstice to deepen your intentions. When you come to KYL on Dec. 17 bring your written intentions with you.
An intention is different than a goal. An intention allows the Infinite to manifest for you in the way it will best serve your soul. A goal tends to be colored by the outcome your ego most desires – whether it is for our highest good or not. With an intention, anything that does not serve your soul will go—material things, personalities and identities, just to name a few.
From
the Heart What is it that the small voice of your soul reveals in your heart that will make the coming year alive, meaningful and fulfilled for you? Write down your intention in the manner below. Shortly after the Winter Solstice Hari Dev Singh and Shakta Kaur will gather them all together and burn them to release before the Infinite all that is possible for you.
Begin by writing:
1) What you want to leave behind in 2010, 2) What you want to bring forward for you personally in 2011, and 3) What you want to bring forward for the world in 2011.
Bring your written intention
to KYL, drop it in our special bowl and know
that your intentions will manifest. Then expand
beyond your imaginings with light Kundalini
Yoga, a long deep relaxation and meditation
especially designed to illuminate the divine
light within at KYL’s special ‘Winter Solstice
Healing Power of Gong & Mantra!’

Shakta Teaching at Winter Solstice Sadhana Celebration
|
3HO Winter Solstice Celebration
Lake Wales, Florida
Dec. 18-25, 2010
|
Join Shakta for a transformational week of Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Breathwalk and three days of White Tantric Yoga at Winter Solstice in Lake Wales, Florida. Shakta is teaching two wonderful classes that you won’t want to miss! They include:
Invincible Vitality is Yours with Breathwalk!Sunday, December 19
in the "Tantric Fire Tent"
7:00 to 8:15 am.*
Many spiritual traditions use walking as a meditation to calm the mind, to connect to nature and for healing. Breathwalk® is a simple, natural and effective walking practice derived from the Kundalini Yoga tradition. More powerful than 'just walking' Breathwalk incorporates specific breath patterns synchronized with your walking steps and a meditative mind. In this session you’ll experience your invincible vitality as you align all forms of energy using body, mind and spirit with Breathwalk. Suitable for yogis and non-yogis alike. All levels welcome.
*Plus, Shakta will offer Breathwalks after the lunch break on Sunday, Dec. 19 and Monday, Dec. 20th, as well!
Reclaim Your Excellence!
Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and the Gong with Shakta Kaur
and musical accompaniment by Gurunam Singh and friends ('Journey Home',
'Silent Moonlight Meditation', 'Crimson Sadhana').
Friday, December 24 in the
Tantric Fire Tent
10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
'I am a work in progress,' we often say, but, it is not so! In the beginning you were perfect, you are perfect now and you shall always be perfect. But, life's whirlpool of color and sound pulls you away from YOU; the mind seduces you away from YOU; the body itself begins to define YOU. Elevate your tattvas to their original, perfect balance and become YOU again. Join Shakta to engage the fire and ether tattvas to raise you above the chaos of life where you can reclaim your excellence! She will be accompanied by Gurunam Singh ('Journey Home,' ‘Silent Moonlight Meditation,’ ‘Crimson Sadhana’) and his musical friends in this session.

Two Special Classes at KYL!
|
12:15 to 1:00 pm - with Har Dev Singh 6:00 to 7:00 pm –
with Jasdeep Kaur
With a Full Moon on this year’s Winter Solstice this is an optimum time to come to KYL, set your intentions for the New Year and prepare to enjoy two very special classes from two of our
fine teachers!
Hari Dev Singh warms your heart with the radiance of Kundalini yoga and meditation in every one of his classes, but, especially on the day of Winter Solstice, come to open a clear pathway for your innermost desires to manifest. Whatever the small voice of your soul reveals in your heart during his class, know that it will make the coming year more alive, meaningful and fulfilled for you.
Jasdeep Kaur always brings a smile to your face with the joy she shares while teaching Kundalini Yoga and meditation. And, on this day—knowing that your intention for the New Year will manifest—your smile will be bigger and brighter than ever. Anything that does not serve your soul will go when you pause to reflect a bit on the day of Winter Solstice.

Yoga for Resolution and Healing
|
KYL's Theme for December
Yoga for Resolution and Healing |
During December at KYL we continue to release old habits that no longer serve us with yoga and meditation especially designed to resolve and heal personal patterns at their deepest level. Expect whatever has been actively seeking healing within you to come to the surface during this time to be dealt with openly, compassionately and thoroughly.
December is also the month to pay attention to the feeling of wanting to go ‘inward’ and ‘catch up’ with yourself through the process of personal maintenance. Whether it is fixing what is broken, giving something to charity or weeding out a closet, December is the month to get to the bottom of it all!
Whatever is no longer needed by you is to be cleaned up and moved out so that you can re-charge and heal yourself. And, resist the tendency to want to please others in this process. This is totally for you... not for anyone else.

FOR ALL SPIRITUAL SEEKERS, TRAVEL TO INDIA HAS A SPECIAL APPEAL. The very land is steeped in spirituality, where many ancient practices were developed and perfected over 5,000 years ago. Simply walking the land can leave a profound and lasting imprint on your soul. To transform your life sometimes requires a journey which will change the way you view yourself and the world.
This is the third tour to India that Shakta and Hari Dev have led with the guidance of tour operator Deepak Singh of Spiritual Journeys.
While maintaining all the comforts of home you will have the profound experience of India;
absorbing the rich spiritual traditions while enjoying safe food, excellent lodging and the guidance of experienced staff.
Highlights of our tour include:
• Participating in the 5-day Punarnava conference “Ayurveda and Yoga: Where Science Meets Consciousness” held in Rishikesh (the yoga capital of the world); • Visiting the sacred Golden Temple in Amritsar; • Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra on a beautiful sunrise tour; • Washing away your karmas in the Mother River Ganges; • Visiting Old and New Delhi; • Walking the holy ground where Lord Buddha spoke his first sermon after 'awakening'
(optional extension tour to Sarnath/Varanasi).
The BBC has listed the Golden
Temple and Taj Mahal as two of the top ten sites to visit in the
world. The basic tour fee of $1,935 (until
January 15) includes
the conference, comfortable lodging, sacred ceremonies,
breakfast daily and English-speaking guides throughout the trip
(land only – airfare to and from India is approximately $1,300
additional). Besides visiting the great religious and cultural
sites, and walking in the footsteps of the Masters, our tour
also provides time to “shop with Shakta” in the bazaars (an
experience in and of itself!) and partake in local customs and
ceremonies. The optional extension tour is $400
additional. For more information

Just For Fun - Lungar Hall in Amritsar
|
| The Sikh tradition is to serve
food to all - where both King and Pauper sit at the same level.
This was the simple device used by Guru Nanak to remove the
'cast' system of Indian culture. In Amritsar, at the
Golden Temple, each day thousands of people are fed in the
'lungar' hall, at no charge. Of course, this requires
hundreds of volunteers to prepare, cook, and clean. It is
truly awesom to walk into the kitchens to view the vast army of
people working to serve others. Here are some links for
more details:

New Moon
The New Moon is when you are at your lowest...energy-wise. It is
a good day to fast on lemon and water. Fast from sun-up until the
next morning at breakfast, when you "break" the "fast."
Waxing Moon
... is the time between the New Moon and the day before the Full
Moon. During this time the energy of the body moves into your higher
centers (chakras). This is the time to bring new things, new people
or new relationships into your life or to accelerate the progress
of your special projects.
11 Days After
New Moon
Yogi Bhajan taught that this is the day when you are in balance.
The glandular system readjusts itself on this day. Your metabolism
is changing, so if you eat very lightly (green foods) or if you
live just on water and lemon today, your health will be perfect.
Eat very lightly during the day. Eat only one meal and drink lemon
and water the rest of the day.
Full Moon
You are naturally accelerated on a full moon. You are at your highest
energy level. The secretions in your body will be at their maximum,
so you don't want your energy being used to consume food. Save your
energy to reconstruct yourself. Try to drink only liquids on this
day. If you feel you must eat, drink only milk. (But, don't drink
cold milk right out of the refrigerator. Milk should be brought
to a boil. Allow the milk to foam up and then bring the heat down
so the milk is on a slow boil for 5-10 minutes. While cooking it,
you may add a pinch of ground turmeric, a pinch of black pepper,
a cinnamon stick, or a few pinches of ginger to reduce any mucous
causing side effect.)
Waning Moon
... is the time between the Full Moon and the day before the New
Moon. This is the best time to remove things, relationships or situations
from your life that no longer serve you. It is not generally thought
of as the best time to start a new project.
