Transportation from O’Hare to The Cenacle
Here is Shakta’s preferred way to travel from O’Hare Airport to the Cenacle (when you do not have a car!):  Take the ‘EL' (i.e., the Blue Line Train) from O’Hare Airport.  Get off of the ‘EL' at the first Western Avenue stop.  (Note:  there are two Western Avenue stops.  You want to get off at the first Western Avenue stop.)  Exit the station, go to the right and hail a taxi cab.  Give the taxi the address of The Cenacle (513 West Fullerton Parkway).  The ‘EL’ will cost about $2.25.  The taxi should cost $14.00 or $15.00 at the most.  (If you deduct transportation expenses on your income taxes, remember to ask for a receipt from the taxi cab driver!)

Transportation from Midway Airport

This is a bit more complex because you will transfer between two EL lines, and then walk 6/10 of a mile.  But if you are adventurous, here is the route (your actual times will vary):

Depart at 03:14 PM: MIDWAY CTA

Arrive at 03:45 PM: STATE/LAKE CTA (BRN/GRN/ORN/PNK/PRP/RED)

Then transfer to...

Take CTA RED LINE TRAIN (RED LINE -NORTHBOUND)

Depart at 03:48 PM: STATE/LAKE CTA (BRN/GRN/ORN/PNK/PRP/RED)

Arrive at 04:00 PM: FULLERTON CTA

Walk 0.6 mile E to 513 W FULLERTON PKWY

Arrivals After 9:00 pm Thursday Night   If you are arriving after 9 pm than we need to know this in order for the Cenacle to prepare a packet with your room key, badge, and car tag (this tag is very important, without it your car may be towed).

Parking   is available, but limited, at the Cenacle Center.  There is alternative parking at an off-site lot at Children's Memorial Hospital parking lot, 2515 N. Clark. Participants park there, then while they are at the Cenacle they pick up a voucher at the front desk and hand it to the attendant for the special $6/day rate.

Housing   If you are residing at the Cenacle Center, your room is reserved for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.  If you need an additional night, then please contact Hari Dev (312-922-4699) to make special arrangements.   If Cenacle Center cannot accommodate your extra nights, then try the nearby hostel Arlington House at (800) HOSTEL5.
