Posture: Sit in Easy Pose or in a chair with a straight spine with a light neck lock (Jalandhar Bandh) and root lock (Mulbandh) (or in Lotus Pose).
Focus: Close the eyes to 1/10th open.
Breath: Start a three-part breath; inhale through the nose deeply as you mentally repeat the mantra three times. Hold the breath and repeat the mantra three times. Then exhale steadily as you mentally repeat the mantra three more times. Use a monotone or Kirtan Kriya melody in your head as you chant silently.
Mantra: RA MA DA SA SA SAY SO HUNG.
Meaning of Mantra: Ra=sun energy; Ma=moon energy; Da=earth energy; Sa=infinity, universal energy; Sa=repeat in second half of mantra; Say = the personal embodiment of Sa; So=the personal sense of merger with Sa; Hung=the Infinite, vibrating and real.
Mudra: Put the hands in Gyan Mudra.
Time: Continue for 11-31 minutes.
End: Inhale deeply, hold the breath for 30-60 seconds and relax.
Comments: The title means a prayer filled breath that blends the three qualities that compose life — the gunas (tamasic-animal;rajasic-earthly human;sattvic-angelic human). It blends the flow of energy in the body. The left nostril flow, the right nostril flow and the central flow. Any mantra or meditation that does this initiates the practitioner to grow larger than the finite self. It gives you neutrality. It gives you great patience and endurance. It adds strength to the nervous system and it improves the function of the lungs.
It opens the intuitive function of the mind and leads you to better decision making. Master this meditation and you will never feel lost in life.
